+49 5207/9504-5241 request@richard-brink.comThe combination of green roof and photovoltaics offers a perfect symbiosis of a building’s ecological and energy-related aspects: a green roof improves the microclimate, binds CO₂, promotes biodiversity and acts as natural insulation. A photovoltaic system facilitates the environmentally friendly generation of clean energy and reduces the need for conventional energy generation. Clients often face the dilemma of having to choose between the two systems. This is the inspiration behind our Miralux Green solar substructure for green roof surfaces.
Miralux Green is the response to the challenge of combining the potential of these two approaches. Our innovative photovoltaic substructure can be used for both east-west and south-facing set-ups and is directly incorporated into the extensive roof planting. The sedum mat and the granulate layer act both as ballast and guarantee stable anchoring of the construction, turning your roof surface to a sustainable and aesthetically appealing space in the process.
Installation takes just a few steps: a drain mat featuring filter and protective fleece is laid over the root barrier foil. The substructure’s support plates are then put into position and covered with a glass fibre mesh. Next, the photovoltaic substructure is assembled on top of the support plate. Once the entire system has been built and put into position, the granulate and plant cover can be added. The glass fibre mesh, which is completely weighted down by the extensive roof planting and granulate, firmly holds the structure to the substrate like an invisible floor anchor. To finish, the solar panels can then be secured to the substructure and wired together.

FAQ
Our Miralux Green is a special type of solar substructure that can be used for both east-west-facing and south-facing set-ups. It is integrated into plans for new roof greenery projects and uses the granulate layer and the greenery as ballast, as these sit directly on the special supporting layer of the substructures.
Our Miralux Green solution is aimed at projects for which a combination of extensive roof greenery and photovoltaic system is planned on newbuilds. Retrospective installation of green roofs with Miralux Green is not recommended. We offer our additional green roof mounting system for the Miralux Flex system for such cases.
Assembly starts by laying a root barrier foil and drain mat complete with filter and protection fleece on the roof surface. The substructure’s support plates are then put into position and covered with a glass fibre mesh, which determines the subsequent direction of the solar modules. After this, the solar substructure is fixed in place using the support plates. As soon as the entire system has been built and put into position, the granulate and plant cover can be added. The glass fibre mesh, which is completely weighted down, firmly holds the structure to the substrate like an invisible floor anchor. Finally, the solar panels can be secured to the substructure and wired together.
The glass fibre mesh, which is completely weighted down by the roof planting and granulate, firmly holds the structure to the substrate like an invisible floor anchor, guaranteeing high stability and safety of the system.
